    This year, all roads of innovation lead to Udaipur! The Govt of Rajasthan has teamed up with Hasura to bring you the third edition of the Rajasthan Hackathon!


    The Rajasthan Hackathon is a 24-hours, multi-topic, innovation marathon for coders, developers, designers, inventors and all-around creators. Individuals and teams from across the country will compete for the opportunity to incubate their winning ideas and the potential to bring it to life! Whether you are a novice or a pro, Rajasthan Hackathon Udaipur will expose you to a whole new world of creation.

    Artificial Intelligence

    AI is taking roots in our everyday lives in a very subtle way. Machine’s ability to “think” like a human is the core philosophy behind Artificial Intelligence. It is a way of making a computer or a software think in the same manner as we humans do. With the help of AI, machine-learning technologies are increasing the productivity like never before. From workflow management tools to trend analysis, AI is changing the way we do our business today. Not only it helps in increasing organizational efficiency, but it also reduces the possibility of any critical error. AI helps to detect irregular patterns, like payment fraud, etc and alert the firm about any suspicious activity. In near future, we will see a huge impact in AI advancements, like how machine-learning algorithms can be used to prevent cyber terrorism and payment fraud. We would also see a strong impact of AI in healthcare advancements for a more accurate treatment of medical conditions. The positive effect that AI will have on the society, in terms of efficiency, is immeasurable.

    Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality

    In 2017, we would see the emergence of mixed reality, which combines AR and VR to completely immerse users into a world where they can summon holograms. The devices that create mobile virtual or augmented reality experiences, are showing up in places other than labs and gaming centers. Virtual reality is a technology that allows a user to perceive and interact with a simulated environment. The environment may be either realistic or fanciful. VR lives strictly inside a headset and transports people to anywhere in real or imagined digital worlds. Whereas, Augmented reality is a technology that overlays information onto a user’s field of view as it perceives the real world. The information typically informs the user about an object or place at which it is looking. AR layers digital objects on top of real-life settings. The technology is getting so effective and sufficiently user-friendly that more companies are considering to incorporate AR/VR solutions into their workflow.


    Blockchain is a distributed database that maintains information/order/records called blocks. The data is constantly growing, so a ‘completed block’ is linked with a new block with fresh information. Each new set of block contains a timestamp and references and identifies the previous block by a hashing function, forming an unbroken chain. Blockchains are secure by design as they are inherently resistant to modification. Once recorded, the data in a block cannot be altered retroactively. The technology can be used to record transactions between two parties effectively and in a verifiable and permanent way. Moreover, Blockchain itself can be programmed to automatically trigger transactions.

    Internet of Things

    A world of devices connected by internet opens up opportunities for us that were previously unthinkable. The fact that devices can now be connected to each other, share data and take intelligent decisions by talking to other devices can disrupt the way we interact with our surroundings. Build applications on Internet of Things that help us improve our experience in our day to day life.

    Big Data

    'Big Data' is an evolving term term used to describe collection of data that is voluminous in size and yet growing exponentially with time. Such data is so large and complex that none of the traditional data management tools are able to store it or process it efficiently. It could come from myriad different sources, such as business sales records, real-time sensors used in the internet of things, etc. Big Data could be structured data, such as SQL database stores; unstructured data, such as document files; or streaming data from sensors. With the help of ‘Big Data’ one can take data from any source and analyse it to find answers that enable: · Cost reductions · Time reductions · New product development · Smart decision making One can also accomplish business-related tasks, by combining big data with high-powered analytics, which would further help in: a) Determining root causes of failures, issues and defects in near-real time. b) Recalculating entire risk portfolios in minutes. c) Detecting fraudulent behaviour before it affects the organization


    Over the past many years, the recent flood of data from genome sequences and functional genomics has given rise to new field, ‘bioinformatics’, which combines the elements of biology and information technology. It is the application of computer technology to get the information that's stored in certain types of biological data. It studies living things, usually at the molecular level. Bioinformatics involves the use of computers to collect, organize and use biological information to answer questions in fields like evolutionary biology and provide globally accessible databases that enable scientists to submit, search and analyse information. It not only offers analysis software for data studies and comparisons but also provides tools for modelling, visualising, exploring and interpreting data. Modern biological, biomedical and development research cannot be done without bioinformatics. The Main goal of bioinformatics is to convert multitude of complex data into useful information and knowledge.


    Bhamashah Scheme, initiated in 2008 by Smt Vasundhara Raje, was the first Direct Benefit
    Transfer programme in India. Along with its key objective of DBT, the scheme also focuses on
    women empowerment and financial inclusion. The Bhamashah Scheme recognizes family as a
    unit and ‘lady of the house’ as the head of the family. The Bhamashah family card and the bank
    account are made in the name of the lady of the house and all the family benefits are directly
    transferred in her account. Rajasthan is the only state in India to empower women by
    registering the bank account in her name. Today, more than 5.2 crore residents of 1.4 crore+
    families have been enrolled under Bhamashah Yojana. Bhamashah Yojana platform will let the

    e-Mitra is delivering its objective as a common service centre (CSC) by providing 290+ services to
    the citizens across 33 districts of Rajasthan. e-Mitra kiosks act as a liaison between the
    government and citizens. e-Mitra offers 290+ services through 40,000+ e-Mitra kiosks across the
    state which makes it the largest service delivery network in India. e-Mitra caters various services
    like bill payments, banking services, application for driving license, and digital bonafide which
    conjoins the intricate technological coalition between two systems. We are providing you e-

    What is the venue for the hackathon?

    The venue for the hackathon is - Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, Rajasthan.

    Team Size

    1 to 4 participants will be allowed to participate in each team. Please note that we will prefer teams with 2-4 members.


    You don't have to pay any fee to participate in the hackathon. It's completely free!

    Will I get a stay for the hackathon?

    Basic accommodation (on sharing basis) will be provided to all the participants on 1st, 2nd and 3rd Dec 2017. Please note that we will not provide accommodation before or after the above-mentioned dates.

    When will I get reimbursement for travel?

    All the selected participants will get reimbursement for round-trip travel. You will get reimbursed at the hackathon venue itself. Please bring your tickets to the venue.

    What if I travel by road/air?

    Even if you travel by road or take a flight, you will still get of the 2 tier AC train fare or your actual fare - whichever is lower. You will be sent a form when you're selected to upload details about your travel plans. If you don't have your tickets/receipts immediately, please upload a doc in the travel reimbursement form saying that you will upload it later.

    What is max cap for reimbursement?

    The maximum cap for reimbursements is 2 tier AC train fares based on the actual distance traveled.

    When will the hackathon start on 2nd Dec?

    Registrations for the hackathon will begin at 8 am on 2nd Dec and the hackathon will start at 10am. Results will be announced at 2 pm on 3rd Dec.

The program aims to nurture innovation and entrepreneurship which would further help in the economic growth and development of the state.
